Beautification/Green Initiative

Our Beach Beautification Program has three goals:

• create public open space that is welcoming,
• create better access to the waterfront, and
• implement environment-friendly programs that promote trash management, encourage recycling, and help to keep the beach clean and accessible.

Summer 2011: Beautification, Information Booth and Pedestrian Way

In 2009, a new beachfront stage and Phase 1 of a re-designed Broadway Mall public park became a part of the landscape at Salisbury Beach Center. Complete with enhanced sitting areas, plantings, recreational areas and a food court, the space invites residents and visitors to relax and enjoy the outdoor environment. This summer, the space will be maintained as part of the beautification initiative with new plantings and continued watering throughout the summer.

Public/Private Partnership

The new space is a joint project between the Town of Salisbury and the Salisbury Beach Partnership. Funding is being sought for summer 2011 to replace outdoor tables and benches with environmental friendly furnishings to continue with the overall plan to make beach center a more "green" space.
