It's Not Too Soon to Mark Your Calendar for the
8th Annual Sand & Sea Festival: June 28-29, 2014
Highlights from 2013:
The popular Street Art Festival was back again!
Local artists created works of art all day Saturday along the Beach Center sidewalks.
STREET ART Competition Winners:
Kids (and their parents) loved this new ride at the Sand & Sea Festival!
The Roaming Railroad is a trackless train that rides around the beach center.
Petting Zoo and Pet Parade
Sunday featured the popular animal events. Kids love holding and learning about different
farm animals and the parade let's them show off their own animals. We do like to remind kids
and parents to consider the pet's comfort when dressing them up for the parade, especially if
the weather is hot. Find out more about the Pet Parade

Nationally-known Artists Created Great Works Right Before Your Eyes!
Percy Fortini-Wright - Graffiti Fine Artist
Here is Boston artist Percy Fortini-Wright painting on the beach on Saturday of the festival.
He loved being right on the beach and painting "en plein air." On the right is the final work that
we raffled it off on Sunday.
Fortini-Wright describes his work as "a wide array of schemes within representational painting
and graffiti vernacular I interpret, depict, and decipher the world around and within me."
Rob Surrette - Amazing Hero Art
Andover-based Rob Surrette's Speed Painting Performance was a show-stopper!
It was not to be missed! We hope to have him back to perform again next year.
Anthony Cappetto - 3D Chalk Artist
Anthony spent 3 days creating an amazing work that invited audience participation! His finished
artwork was on display throughout the weekend.
"Before I Die" Project and Green Inititive Murals Installed for the Summer
The Before I Die project offers public "walls" where anyone can pick up a piece of chalk, reflect on their lives,
or share their personal aspirations with the community.
The Green Initiative Mural Project features works by local artists and businesses who have created their
vision of environmental friendliness specific to the local waterways, beaches and reserves.
