Ahoy maties! The pirates have taken over the Sand & Sea Festival. Enjoy an action packed day with sword fights, birds of prey, sing-along’s and cannon firing lessons.
On Broadway Mall:
Pirate Encampment - 10am - 6pm
The Dark Rose Pirates have washed ashore and piled their salvaged booty under a tent made from old sails. Drop by and catch the fun! Activities include songs, bird exhibitions (featuring Orrey-oh, the African raven), knot tying, foam cutlass fights with big bad pirates for the little swashbucklers, and much more!

TREASURE ISLAND SAND SCULPTURES ADVENTURE & TREASURE HUNT - 10am - 6pm
Local and nationally-known sand sculptor Greg Grady and his team of sculptors are creating five giant pirate-themed sand sculptures on Treasure Island. See pirates and shipwrecks, cannons and castles – all sculpted out of sand! Take your chance to loot their treasure. Buy a treasure map, find your treasure number, and win a pirate prize! On the Broadway Mall. Viewing is free. Fee for treasure hunt.

Back by popular demand! The Black Diamonds members are between the ages of 8 and 12 and come from Haverhill, Boxford and Derry, NH. Aside from numerous local shows the Black Diamonds are also playing Earthfest Boston in May and in Berlin, Germany in July.
Kelly & The Cosmic Noise
Also back for the second year. Known for there great vocals and tight musicianship, Kelly and the boys rival many adult cover bands. Members are between the ages of 16 and 19 and come from North Andover, Beverly & Boxford.
3rd Floor Chaos
Members were inspired to start their band after witnessing the fun at last years Salisbury Sand & Sea Festival. This teen group is between the ages of 16 and 18 and are fun mix of male and female talents. The members come from Woburn, Beverly, Danvers and Salem.
Spazmonkey
A fun and fearless frontman you won't want to miss! This fun group of boys range in age from 12-15 and come from North Andover, Haverhill, Groveland, Seabrook, NH and Hampstead, NH.
Alex Nett
An extremely talented singer and song-writer, is ready to bring her great songs and vocals to the beach! Alex is 16 year's old and comes from Merrimac.
Rapid Transit
DeAngelis Studio's newest band from Haverhill is ready to ROCK! These boys from Haverhill range in age from 12 to 13.
